Very nice proportions etc, but can you show the fliy again without the backlight. Just so we can appreciate its normal colours.

Cheers

Thanks Silversedge, thats a bit better mate. Well done it looks a cracking fly. In fact I never have snatchers off at the moment, as they seem to cover a range of likely food items.

That's a nice tie SS. Have you got a mix going on there with the seals fur? Which colours?

Ace looking fly!

Can these be tied in any colour or do certain ones work best?
Is that a cock hackle for the palmering?

Also these are fished wet, right?

I can see Magenta and Orange in there, with what looks like dark ginger.

There are many variations including some with tinsel bodies. The hackle pictured is almost certainly cock. Some would recommend hen for extra mobility, and the original premise of the Snatcher was that the hackle is sparse. Stripping the leading edge of the hackle is a recommendation given by Stan Headley. It certainly does give a nice subtle effect.

The Snatcher is a wet fly, but I dare say if you greased one up, it could take a few fished on/in the surface.

A few more to read up on and drool over.
