Default aiken fly hooks?

Hello,

Yesterday I found myself out of sz 16 dry fly hooks and in need of some in a hurry prior to a planned evening sedge session on the river.

I went to the local (predominantly carp-oriented) fishing shop and they had one single pack of sz 16 Aiken 'captain hamilton' fly hooks. Apart from the annoying upturned eye they seem to be of decent quality and good value for money.

Anyone else use these and if so, have they proved reliable? They passed the de-barbing-without-breaking test, which is more than I can say for some brands.

Mike

They could be re-branded from another Redditch based hookmaker. I don't think Aiken's ever made their own fly hooks. Think Sprite or Partridge in the mid-80's early 90's.
