Default Best barbless wet fly/nymph hooks

Any recomendations out there on the best size 14 and 16 barbless nymph hooks ?

Ideally ones with a long point, as I find it far easier to lose wild brownies on barbless hooks than rainbows for some reason.....

I have some Skalka hooks somewhere ( the name may be slightly different to this ) but cant find the buggers.....

Thanks

There are some great coarse hooks for wet flies and nymphs - I like Drennan's specimen barbless and Kamasan's Animal hooks. They're both straight-eyed hooks and the shank lengths are shorter than typical fly tying hooks, so size 14's in these hooks correspond roughly to size 16 fly tying hooks. Spiders tied on Kamasan Animal hooks look like real killers!

Spider,

The Grip 11801BL is an excellent nymph hook - long shank and long spear - also the 11013BL - slightly shorter shank but still a long spear.

Don't just think of these hooks for dry patterns - they are VERY strong and with a flat lead underbody, will provide you with a superbly slim profile.

Kind regards

I can vouch for the Knapek nymph hook's sharpness as one sailed into my index finger yesterday
thankfully I just slid out again whilst I danced on the spot

Another for Knapek either the nymph, wet or Pupa hooks are all the business.
For what is worth i think they are on the biggish side so Vere towards the smaller sizes if you are trying to copy fish food.
