Default Best Hooks??

So other than me having the reaction speed of a stunned slug, I can only put the almost continuous missed takes when dry fly fishing down to my hook choice. I am using Mustad hooks at the mo and would like to upgrade.

I am looking for Klink hooks about size 14 and hooks for a CDC/Deer Hair sedge sizes 14,16 & 18.

Any help on best makes greatley appreciated, not too bothered on price.

Cheers

Mick

Hi Mustard Mick,

For your klinks mate you could go for fullingmill 31270..... opt for 14s for big klinks and duo indicators..... 16s and 18s for your fishing bud, there big you see so you want 16/18.

Dries such as cdc mate i just use again F.M. all purpose mediums 31550, again 12's 14s 16s.
If i want fly in film i'll opt for 31530 comp heavy bud.
Rivers Mustard.......... Tiemco .... tmc103bl are crackers mate, you'll love em.

Hope this helps
Ketchup Fred.

Would be very surprised if it is down to the hooks you are using, what type of dries are you fishing and what hook are they tied on.

Gerry

Hi Gerry, I use mainly Deer hair sedges (Mustard Standard Dry) and A home made PT Klink type thing on a Grub hook (too heavey I know), I catch well on both but I also miss loads, I would say my average would be 6 takes to every fish caught.

I would go along with Fred on his FM recommendations, I also use Kamasan B160 8's for my hedgehogs.
Cheers

Mike for my Klinks i am using trighammer hooks from Sparton and if river fishing with no huge rainbows and light lines I would look no further than the excellent sprite internationals for my sedges and many other drys .
all UK made !
