Default Which chenille?

I'm wanting to tie the Pitsford Pea and the Dawson's Olive but don't know what chenille to use.

Any ideas?

Just been to Wharfedale Angling but they don't have what I want.

Default Dawsons Olive

Hi mate you should get what you want on this site http://www.diptera.co.uk/patterns/d/...unburst.htmlet cheers Jim

For a Dawsons Olive you need Olive Chennile

Pitsford pea black and green or lime

Thanks, but I know what colours want.

I am confused which chenille to buy.

There are a few different types of chenille ie suede, cactus and rayon.

Which one should I buy?

You just want 8mm fritz. The stuff Big Reel was selling cheap, called "3D Elite" is perfect. It has a bit of UV and gold or silver in it but they just jazz the pattern up a bit.

The original dressing doesn't use fritz, it uses chenille.

True, but that doesn't matter.

The fitz just improves it if anything - more movement, more colour, UV, etc.

The fact is that the Pea is just a black/green lure and there are umpteen variations of that which work and the Dawson's is just a big damsel/olive lure for which there are also dozens of variants.

Not quite sure exactly what you mean, given the foregoing help offered and refused. Does this help for the Dawson's Olive side of the question?

Well I suppose that depends whether you want to catch fish or have a very specific pattern - sounds like it is the latter

Hello ArticFoxFly The orginal tying for the Dawsons Olive was tied with olive rayon chennile, you should keep in mind the older the pattern it was probably tied with Rayon. I tie all my Dawsons with rayon, I met Brian Dawson and I think his original tying is the best I buy the rayon from my local fishing tackle shop. Regards Robbie
