Midlander,
Thank you for that. Had never thought of that. One of the reasons I prefer shuttlecock type cdcs is that I can see the little plume of dark feathers at a distance. I will give that a go with foam suspenders.

A tail, swept back wing.
Don't know Steve, it might be OK for an olive though. A couple of strands of crystal hair or similar in the tail might be interesting. I use 5mm booby tube on mine as it's more robust than the poly balls.

No worries mate. I prefer the booby cord. As I said above it's more robust than the poly balls an less troublesome than cdc re drying after a fish. I'll often fish two sugar cube suspenders with a light wire straight buzzer in between sort of semi washing line style. Just watch for the flash or you'll see the top fly twitch if you get a take on the middle.

They're not the last word in surface buzzers though. A Klink has out fished them occasionally. I must say that Roy's fore and aft cdc looks promising although I'd probably try it with foam.

Do you attach the cord with mesh or directly somehow?

Just whip it to the shank Steve, nothing fancy, it'll get covered with the dressing anyway..

The above photo shows the position for a foam post hopper..

For the buzzer I have it closer to the eye, but you get the gist.
