Gerry has had a bit of "implied criticism" recently, on this forum.

I just wanted to share my experiences - on a couple of occasions Gerry has helped me out completely unsolicited and this week, on Tuesday I pm'ed him asking for a "budget JC Cape" and another item, for which he promptly quoted me.

Tonight I got home and everything was there, and the quality, for the supposedly "budget" item is extraordinary.

So this is my experience - great product and excellent service.

I just think we have to remember that specialists like Gerry are not Orvis, with an army of folks to take calls and payment and carry out the shipping chores. They are individuals, selecting and dying product, dealing with customers and looking after their families and that needs to be taken into account.

Cannot fault Gerry in any way, as with all, he has personal & family commitments and his service is, to me anyway, is first class, even if it takes a few days or more, the goods are always here as promised.

Both with advertised, website & personal orders, Gerry always supplies first class goods.

I have great admiration for his talent and the quality of his product.
I have however had issues with the promptness of the service, promise of replacement product and lack of communication.
It takes nothing to be polite.
This was the one and only occassion I used the mail order.
Once biten etc.

Glad of the oppertunity to add to this. I have now bought about nine or ten capes from Gerry. All dyed by himself and the colours and quality are amazing. Average price is working out about £4 - £5. I would highly recommend.

Im sure if everybody got the same service as yourself there would be no problems . Like all things in life you are only as good as your last order..

Hi I have to back Gerry here. I got JC capes of him before Christmas. We had a bit of a hick up with postage but I think I just got a little impatient as it was just before Christmas and the post can be mad at that time of year. Any way when the capes arrived boy was I pleased. Absolutely first class and well worth the wait. I will do business with Gerry again with no worries.

Gerry's stuff is first class and I know all about the trials and tribulations of running a small business.

However, I still have a few items outstanding from a previous order and a current order which seems to have gone astray due to the Inverness postal service.........again.

I'm sure ALL of the outstanding items will arrive soon and I'll then be able to recommend Gerry's materials and service without reservation.

I had a slight issue with some hook, without a second thought he replaced them. I don't even think the problem was his, it was his suppliers.

His solution was actually over generous to the point where I felt the need to send more money!

The biots Gerry produces are amazing!
