Default John Shewey's Golden Greed spey fly.

Been playing again, guess by now you know i just love the look of spey flies. so here is one more, it is the fly that is on the cover of John Shewey's book Spey flies And Dee flies there History and Construction. hope you like it.

THE GOLDEN GREED

Hook- Partridge Ex/long Bartleet Blind eye,
Thread- Danville 6/0 red,
Tag- Fine gold oval and orange silk,
Tail-Natural golden pheasant crest,
Butt-Gold flat tinsel,
Body- Bright orange mohair dubbing,
Rib- Fine oval gold,
Hackle- Orange dyed marabou plus brown eared pheasant,
Collar- Teal dyed orange,
Wing- Orange Goose shoulder feather tied vertically,
Cheeks- Orange jungle cock.

It's a beaut fly - the colour is wonderful and the depth of the fly is really good. I like the overall panache - it's a great spey fly.
