Default Picric Blue Jay

Just ordered some from Sam. What is the rest of the DB pattern that incorporates this ie what body material, head thread and rib ?

Also, any other good patterns in which I can use the PBJ ?

Charlie

Default picric db

Hi charlie,

The rest of the the pattern is:

Tail:Picric BJ.
Body: picric peacock herl
RIB: Stretched wide pearl as thin as you can get it.
throat: picric BJ.
Thread: red fluro or green or else glo brite no4 or fluro green head.

Will see if I can tie up some patterns over the weekend and post them with details.

Tightlines,
Saracen

Default A Couple of variants

Here are a few flies that use Saracens picric peacock eyes as bodys, and picric blue jay as throat hackle, plus a gloBrite no4. variant....these are very much tied as per Campbell Baird's that I like so much!
