Default A few questions on tube flies

I am going to start tying some tube flies.

Can anyone explain how to decide what hook to use with different sizes of tube.

I'm only thinking of single hooks.

Default tubes

I suppose it depends on what you are fishing for?

Just to put it into context a small tube with a very large pike hook will sink very quickly and be out of balance . For my trout tubes , I use short shank carp hooks , not too heavy and a good wide gape.
If you are after using big hooks , consider tying some booby cord on the tube to help balance it.

Nice color and tube, but the tinsel need a bit of work, think you have done just one run. i tend to start at the head down to the tail, then back to the head you will get better cover and you will find you will find it more even. but good for you first
