Default App's

Hi Guys

Got some flexi floss stuff last night at GAC and have started playing with it making App's blood worms. The examples below weighted unweighted both four legged.

Click the image to open in full size.

Ive not fished them yet, hope to on sunday would love to see any other variations you use ??

Also how do you fish them ? Thinking the weighted on a floating line long leader on point, was thinking unweighted possible good on a dropper ??

They look fine Englander, I sometimes fish the unweighted ones, and just use a floating line with about 12ft tippet.
I allow about 30 seconds after touchdown, then retrieve fairly quickly, making them a bit jerky to get those long legs wiggling so to speak.
Seems to work for me. Sometimes they will only take the same pattern in yellow!!

I have caught using them either with a very slow retrieve on an intermediate or floater. Also fished static under an indicator, enough movement from the legs to attract attention. Have also had fish take them on the dropper well off the bottom, so I am sure that they are not always being taken as bloodworm. Most succesful colours for me are red and orange but have also caught using green. I know that pink has been successful for others.

When i fish the apps i do long pulls as this makes the floss vibrate like mad under water, plus the addition of the long pulls helps you get better hooks ups rather than doing short twitches which can result in missed fish sometimes....

As said above the gold head version fished under the bung is great method.. the pinky under the bung can be very affective..

I like an un-weighted version but tied on heavy buzzer/grubber style hooks as the flexifloss can float on light hooks......

A nice combo for me is the Apps on the point and a hares ear on a dropper above. Fished under a bung and allowed to drift or very slowly F8'ed back.

Nice examples in your photos. Well done.
