Practically anything you like mate... don't forget about winding stuff on for the thorax, rather than just dubbing. For example.. pearl mylar makes an effective PTN thorax, especially coupled with with dyed black pheasant tail and a fine silver rib. Wire is an option for the thorax too.. try some copper for an extra fast sinking nymph. Then there's spanflex, peacock herl, glo-brite floss etc etc etc.
As far as furs and dubbings go, seals fur is an obvious choice, as is rabbit or hare. The sky's the limit. Why not try sparse mixes of dubbing over a glo-brite or pearl thorax base? Have fun

scratch thanks for the options !

when you say copeer wire ... what gauge would you use and how much of a thorax "build" is required without beint 2 much or 2 little? wouldnt want it sinking like a stone of front heavy....

Default Joe pubic

Any hair can be clipped and then dubbed into a fine thorax even the humble pubic hair

A forum member on a thread started by myself has kindly highlighted the potential use for ginger headed womens pubic hair.

I imagine that this material if used in the correct amounts would make a lovely wee orange pheasant tailed nymph.

If the ginger headed woman is also a bit of a 'nymph' then it should be all the more fun obtaining such a lovely natural material

Doesn't really matter Mark. If you only have a heavyish gauge, or you don't want it to sink too fast then you can control the weight of the thorax by putting a base of thread down first, or maybe some hare or rabbit.. poking out from the copper wire.... Oooh Matron
