When i wind the spanflex down the hook i always ad varnish to the hook shank first, i wind down the hook in tight touching turns making sure the flexi floss if pulled very tight, on the way back up i do ribbed turns, but still holding the flexi floss tight.

and if i want a thicker body i just simple repeat the process, Ill be Homest i have never had a problen with it slipping, but maybe thats a result of putting varnish on the hook shank first

Hi mate, Its very simply just spanflex/flexi floss.......

Its basically a hope to make the flies look more buggy in the water, as when they are in water the bodies become translucent, hence they look more life like

Very, very nice. I actually think that one has a more 'alive' look to it somehow.

Cheers FF, yeah ill have to agree with you the thicker body one does look a bit more fishy than the skinny versions, but not to worry i have tied them in both styles anyway..
