Default UV Resin

Hi all, quick question, I just received my first bottle of UV resin through the post(bug off) and was surprised to find it came in a brown transparent bottle, surely if it's set by UV it should be supplied in an opaque bottle
Won't this just set inside the bottle eventually.

Brown absorbs the blue and violet spectrums. That is how brown tinted "Blublocker" sunglasses work. Also if glass had to be opaque to absorb UV, how do you think we could see through UVA and UVB absorbing sunglasses?

You will also notice that the light from the "UV" flashlight is visible. If it were really UV, you wouldn't be able to see it. It is near UV light.

dont quote me on this but i'm sure the brown glass filters out the small amount of uv light within the normal daylight

If you have a UV resin that cures with a residual tackiness, try putting it outside in the sun. Most will cure completely.

I line the inside of a small cardboard box with aluminum foil so that it will reflect light onto the bottom and sides of the fly. I then mount the fly in the box.

I've got a brown glass bottle of deercreek's diamondhard resin, and have had it for nearly 2 years, it's still as good as new & has been used loads of times. I just keep it on the bench all the other stuff, not in the fridge.

After Using the UV torch i leave the Flies on window sill for a hour just so the UV rays harden the Resin further.
