Default New Fly Recipe Website

Hi Everyone!

A new recipe site has launched! It's called Fly Recipes [dot] com (www.flyrecipes.com)

Yes, it's my personal site and this is a shamless self promotion, but I'm not selling anything or otherwise trying to trick anyone. I just love fly tying and I think I've put together a pretty cool site starting out with over 800 recipes with another 1,250 cataloged and to be online by end of summer. I've built a filtering system using over 100 tags to help you find you pattern quickly.

One of your very own members, 'langland_fisher', has visited and contributed his flies that he posted on this forum under the post "Flies for Isle of Harris Salmon." You can view Nigel's flies at http://www.flyrecipes.com/index.php?...=287&Itemid=35.

Come look around, tie a fly, upload a fly, tell me what you think.

Thanks,

Joe

Hi Joe
Good web site. I can see a lot of work has gone into it. Like the idea of adding a recipe and other fly tiers rating it.
May I suggest that when clicking on the chosen fly image to view a larger image it opens in a seperate minimised window as viewers might inadvertantly click the X in the corner to close the image rather than the back button thus leaving the site.

Best of luck

Thank you all for your kind words, I am very appreciative!

If any of you have recipes and photos, even if a similar fly already exists, I would honored to have you upload them.

@Itchy - Thanks for the heads up on the picture. It is already supposed to be acting in just the manner you suggest. I will go in today and find my error.

Thank you all for visiting!

-Joe

Working on the step by step stuff now. I can do this without any problems i the backend, my delima is making this available to users to upload step by step instructions. I have to make sure that the system can handle uploading multiple pictures at once without timing out for the users.

Thanks for joining and swapping!

Joe
