Default Egg/Globug fly

Not one for the traditionalists, but whats the best way to get a perfect sphere when tying globugs. Mine look good, but you can always tell the 'underside'. Any tips?

Default Re glowbug egg

Hi are you using enough yarn ie at least four pieces, make sure you put two on one side tie in then the same on the other side and tie in securely.
Pull the yarn on one side really tight before you cut and do the same on the other side this should make it fluff out and cover the hookshank any sticky out bits just trim them off hope this helps

Thanks, that makes sense, on youtube, someone just used 2 pieces and a dubbing needle to "puff out" the yarn around the underside...

I've handled thousands of trout/salmon eggs during my heathen bait fishing days and this may come as a shock to you, but the eggs aren't round

And, to do it right, you'd better have VERY sharp scissors!
