carp on fly

hi folks,
anybody got any ideas on patterns that would come close to a small piece
of bread imitation?There is a small coarse fishey close to me that is really
set out well,three lakes all with bankss free of trees on certain sides ideal
for fly casting,i went and had a go one night at weekend and took a couple
of lovely commons between 3 and 5 pounds on a pellet imitation,but
the regulars told me bread is best.When i threw some bits in they went
mad for it!Any ideas?

Piece of cake mate... white thread and white marabou is all you need... err... and a hook I suppose.

Either rip the marabou into hookshank length chunks and tie on just behind the eye or roll the fibres into a 'noodle' and wind it around the shank from bend to eye then pick out with a dubbing needle to make it look fluffy.

Aim 12 to 24 inches in front of your target fish while they're cruising near the surface and you'll be hard pushed to fail I reckon
