Hi Novice
I haven't tied a woven nymph for over ten years. Yours looks very good. The segments are even and well lined up and the nymph overall looks good. Not a bad attempt.

I've had a couple of attempts at a woven nymph since seeing them in one of last months magazines, my efforts have been terrible, but yours looks great. Well done!

It's a style that fallen from favour I believe because it takes so much practice to handle the materials well and keep the tension even. You have done well.

Have you looked at the Tiemco R200 nymph hooks they would suit that tying beautifully giving you a slightly longer shank to work on? My only worry with yours is that butt of the abdomen might compromise a good hook hold and penetration. Mind you the Yorkshire Sedge pattern hooks would do equally as well.

You've inspired me I am going to have a crack at some weaving again ...... maybe with twisted marabou. We cannot all afford silk you posh git.

I found some instruction for the crocheted granny knot weave flies.

How To Make a Woven Body by John Terje Refsahl

This the shuttle style of weaving I do. It is a much faster and easier style of weaving using bobbins
