Guest judges and challenge tiers don't forget - please don't post yer votes and thoughts on here - PM them to me when we are down to the final 10
Evenin' buzzer fans....
'Ere we go then..... 36 'new' buzzer patterns for your delectation. We've got the lot...all the sizes, all the colours....fluffy and scruffy, minimal and subliminal, lean and mean. Is there anything truly original here? I don't know,I'll let you lot decide. All I know is that there are plenty of mouth-watering offerings that I would glady lash onto my leader and fish with confidence. And I guess that's what this challenge was all about at the end of the day - to provide us all,at the peak of the buzzer season, with inspiration and some new ideas, hopefully expand our understanding and appreciation of buzzer tying and fishing, and increase our pleasure, satisfaction and results when doing so. It's a well used line, but you're all winners in my book fellas...for simply being 'arsed' to design, tie and submit a pattern...and run the gauntlet of the public and 'guest' vote
I was totally thrilled with the uptake, even though a good 20 tyers have dropped out without so much as a PM...is it OK if I carry on and post the flies chaps
I have even had the pleasure and the honour of copying one or two patterns and fishing them already... with results

(I couldn't possibly disclose which ones though

)Well done to all of you,and thanks for entering.

Judging
Ok thrillseekers, here's how it works. Below you will see all 36 flies in all their glory (well, best I could do with a £100 compact

) The winners will be established with 2 rounds of voting.
Round 1 'Public Vote'
First comes the 'public vote'
- open to anyone who was a full member of this forum as of May 1st. One or two of you have expressed fears of multiple identity voting and other such skullduggery. Personally I can't see people going that far over a fly,but there ya go, it's a small measure to catch any smart Alecs off guard.
Anyway... 'Public voting'. Please, members of the forum, have a butchers at the buzzers and cast yer votes on this thread. Remember, this isn't a technical tying comp, and we are not necessarily looking for the cleverest design,or the most naturlalistic.
All we are looking for is flies you'd personally love to fish with, and would give you confidence in a buzzer hatch.
Simply post your top 3 in order, thus -
1st - Fly 6
2nd - Fly 21
3rd - Fly 12
and add a few comments on your choices if you wish.
Round 2 'The Final' (Tiers vote & 'Guest Vote' )
The top 10 flies from the public vote will go into 'the final',to be scrutinised by some of the forums elder statesmen, luminaries, prize contributors,journalists... and one or two all round good eggs who have half an idea what they're talking about
The guest judges will also pick their top 3 and hopefully add a few words of wisdom.
Votes from the challange tiers will be required at this stage too,and added to the guest vote to establish a winner, and 4 places.
Timeline....
Public voting will be open from today until
Friday16th May
The final will be from Sunday 18th to
Thursday 22nd May
Results/Prizes Sun 25th May
