Im hoping these fellows well catch on Melvin when the sedge are active, fingers crossed.

Was hoping the deer hair would keep them up but I will have to see how they go. I usually use a woodcock winged sedge which I do gink up.

the deer hair will keep them up, they will float well, if you put a drop of loon aquel on them and they will float for ages. i tie a similar one except i use a ginger/red game cock hackle at the shoulder, about 4-5 turns and i believe that it improves the fly. brown trout like hackles. tie a few with hackles and give them a go.
