Hi Tel you can cut wings out of small feathers and hackles line up the stem with the gap and press down or lightly tap the cutter it gives you a neat wing and a bit to tie in with mainly used in the Upright winged dry flies, easker1

Take a decent sized partridge feather and coat in flu gloo or varnish it.

Then when its dry stamp it with the cutter and make sure the stem of the feather is about the centre line of the cutter.

Then gently fold the feather along the stem and tie it in as a sedge wing.

hi there what i do is glue tissue to the under side of the feather with nail varnish this keeps the feathe together and then when dry i use the cutter and then you have the shape with out the feather splitting and you can colour the under side what ever you need it to be.if you are getting shut of them let me know i would like them thanks.
