Jungle cock - How to select right size nails?

I have recently bought a jungle cock cape from Lathkill for use on various wet flies in the 8 - 12 hook size range. Is there a 'rule of thumb' for selecting the right size of nail for different hook sizes? just need to get the right proportions and any advice would be appreciated

"There's only one hard & fast rule" & "that's are no hard & fast rules" Basically if it looks right (to you) & it catches, then ..... who are we to judge. Look at other peoples posts, try google images for jungle cock eyes & there's loads there, amongst some other stuff.
