To the best of my knowledge this is a Rob Edmunds pattern. It has been featured in Trout Fisherman quite a bit. If memory serves, it was in the latest issue.

Essentially starts out the same as a cruncher with tail hackle fibres. After tying in wire rib tie in a length of holo tinsel in red, orange or green, then tie in the pheasant tail fibres for the body. Wind body, wind tinsel in same direction, counter wind rib. Thorax and front hackle as for a cruncher. Holo tinsel head.

I have been tying them up in all three colours, in size 14s and can personally vouch for the effectiveness of the red and green patterns.

Last year my most consistent PTN pattern was in blackwith a silver wire rib. So I have tied up a black nemo with a holo blue tinsel and silver rib - it is an absolute cracker. I have given the fly to several friends and they report that it is a fish catcher. Like the original cruncher, the nemo is open to experimentation with different colour combinations.

For the small #14s I have been tying, finding a narrow holo tinsel was a challenge. In the end I found that the material being sold by Paul Davis (Fly Tying Shop) was ideal. Alternatively, you can use the finer flashabou tinsels or stretch a medium width tinsel to suit ( although I found that you loose some of the holo effect when you do this).
