Ive used kamasan, Fulling Mill and Tiemco over the years with no problems. Ive just recieved some Haybusa and will be trying them this season. I don't think there is much to chose between them all. Probably comes down to personal choice and cost really.

Yes Fulling Mill do hooks.

I go for what I think is best value for money. Mostly Kamasan as I fish still water the most. You can often get a good deal on them. Never let me down.
Have used Fulling Mill and they were fine. No issues with these. Are they the best, could not comment as I have not used a lot of others.

Avoid the bargain basement hooks. Has to be said.

For a few river flies I have a small number of Tiemco and Varivas in 16's, 18's and 20's. Both are nice fine hooks for small fish.

Cheers,
Mark

Fulling Mill come from the same prodiction facilities as Hayabusa. They are virtually identical to Kamasan.

The only bad hooks iv ever had were cheap a$$ bargain basement hooks.
Stickwith a brand and then a range for the particular fly and i dont think youl go far wrong.

For the river/barbless range you wont go far wrong using these :

Hanek from here : Unique Flies

Dohiku from here : Welcome to Iain Barr's Fly Fishing Website

Some of the best out there IMO....

I use different hooks for different flies as I don't believe there is one brand better than the rest for every situation.
One brand I use that isn't on your list is Umpqua... I really like them.
I believe they come out of the same factory as one of the popular brands named above!

I notice no one has mentioned Partridge ,some good hooks from then but to my patriotic mind there is a lot to be said for Sprite hooks ,made in the UK and dam fine hooks too .
Steve Parton who is a trade member here sells some and they are also a=vailable from Flymakers of Aberdeen .
Buy some you would make a small dent in the trade balance .

I typically use either Kamasan or Fulling Mill for much of my tying - i can buy them in packs of 50 or 100 and find that my regular tackle shops and online suppliers have good stocks. I do like some of the Tiemco barbless hooks for my river fishing, but have found consistent supply a bit of a challenge at times. For really small patterns (sub-18) I tend to go for Tiemco when I can find them or Orvis and Umpqua (which I try to look out for when i have business trips to the US).
