Default Fortbhoy Tributes

I would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for all the kind words and Fly

Tying Tributes to my son Stevie Lee Wright A.K.A FORTBHOY.

Stevie was a great kid who was very passionate about his fly fishing and loved to tie a

wide variety of flies. I can remember showing him how to tie his first fly, he had been

out playing football and had a set of goalies gloves on and when he came back in there

were a lot of threads hanging off his gloves, mainly fluorescent green which we used along

with some Pheasant tippet, Gold rib and a Partridge hackle, we called the fly The

Goalkeepers Revenge and it was not long until this fly was taking 1lb Brownies from

Harray Loch.

I would love to set up a memorial fly fishing competition in or around Fort William as

near to Stevie's birthday (27th June) as possible but I am not very sure how to go about

this. If anyone has any tips or advice they will be gladly received.

Stevie's family would like if possible for all monies raised to go to the:

Lochaber Hope,
30 Fassifern Road,
Fort William,
PH33 6XQ .

TIGHT LINES

Im very sorry to hear of your loss, I didnt know steve but he tied a great fly.

I think that would be a great idea, having suffered with depression myself since the age of 15 any help towards a charity aiding this would be great.
Im not from the area but I think the first thing to do would to see how many people would be interested to partake and book a venue to suit, perhaps a raffle at the end of the day could be good, which may help to raise more money.

Hi there, I also didn't know your son, but having lived and worked in the Lochaber area for a couple of years I am well aware of the local issues and would be only too happy to support Lochaber Hope. This service was not in existence when I was there but having poured over the web site I think it sounds like a vital service.

As Boony has been so candid I will be so too. I've suffered what's now known as Bi Polar Affective Disorder since I was a school kid.

That's a lovely memory. Made me chuckle - the goalie gloves and the name of the fly.
