As long as the rat is grey. In California of course, they are a protected species, so we have to import rat fur from Washington DC!! The advice and help from the forum has really improved my tying no end!

Hi la jolla

Our rats in the UK are commonly brown with grey under fur. I suppose fly tying material specialist supply grey rat skins.

Hi Black Knight:

I was teasing SharkeyP about the California rodent fur after his previous post. I actually dubbed with a hint of rabbit dubbing dyed grey. It is true that in California, picking up a blue jay feather for instance is an offense, and the allusion to DC referred to the rats in DC that contribute so much to our political process. Good draw by Blackburn vs Everton. A few more wins and out of the drop zone.
