Default do trout and salmon see colours

Is there any concrete proof that fish see colours, or is it only fishermen.
Also can fish see ultra violet ?

Jings

Some fish can see not only UV but also patterns of polarisation - which I though was a trick reserved for insects..

A point well made 'outofwater'

Di-chromatic species are said to see in a sea of blue and green; but I think it's far more complex than that; of course the grayling can see their spawning colours.

Humans are tri-chromatic; whilst the mantid shrimp is said to see in fabulous 16-chromatic.

I shall continue to seek 'killer' colours/triggers in my flies
