Magnet wire?

Has anyone used magnet wire, the enamelled or varnished stuff, for fly tying before?

I was thinking of getting some really fine magnet wire and using it for tying nymphs.

I use it all the rtime all sizes and fuse wire.

The very fine stuff is dubbable too !

Years ago I got a couple of solenoid coils out of an old radio and a TV, I've used it to rib the Cove nymph I tied. I've since used it to rib various buzzers and nymphs.
One had an orange/copper look to it which has been very good and the other was more reddish in colour which is useful for the buzzers. Hope this is useful.

Lawrence Finney in Moira has been pioneering the use of wire in his wire woven bodies for some year now. Give him a ring or call down and he can supply you with a wide colour range of wires for the purpose

I think Bennichi has a big range of coloured copper wire out I have some green bought yrs back , easker1
