Default F Fly with rabbit thorax

I saw a fly a week or so ago ( possibly by Jindra? ) and it reminded me to add a twist to the F fly as he has, but I dont have tails on mine.

Unfortunately I cant put a pic up, but do try it

103BL Hook size 19
Yellow Pearsalls
2 or 3 cdc feathers for wing, not cut at the end, but natural.
Rabbit dubbed - twice under wing and once over it, to cock the wing a little.

It just looks lethal !

Not bad mate, gradually getting there with the flies for the new season. Still wonder about saving a few bob for one of those green sticks.....

This "cocking up" is quite effective for small dun patterns. I like to do use a bit rougher dubbing for the thorax - hare or fox squirrel. I personally like the motley effect of varying length and color of the dubbing more (but that is only personal choice).

For an excellent example of this style visit River Fly Box: Olive Quill by Dave Wiltshire

on second notice: I see that Dave has posted the fly also on this forum Quill LDO

Cheers!

J.
