Default Borders Greenwell

Hi

Many years ago when I were a lad I used to fish the river Teviot near Hawick.
I got some flies from an old worthy, Sadly no longer with us hope he is in fishing heaven.
The flies were called Border Greenwell (Dry)

I am wondering if any one here has got the dressing for this fly.

All that I can remember about the fly is that it had 3 different coloured hackles.

I would appreciate any help as fishing this great fly would bring back some very happy times on the water. Now that I am an old worthy

The dressing for it, is the same as the standard Greenwells, but with no tail. Although, there is some dispute whether the standard should have a tail at all. invented on the Tweed, hence the name.

Googling it came up with lots of examples. You should be able to work out the dressing from the images.

I hadn't heard of it before - looks an interesting fly for searching broken water. Thanks for bringing it up
