Default Fly Id please?

Hi Folks,

Click the image to open in full size.

Been asked to copy this fly for a friend, it is on a S12 long shank hook (Not sure of the make - it is very fine wire with a deeper than usual gape)

Wings are orange Marabou - apparently it originally had a few streaks of yellow too? - head is red/orange.

Body appears to be a translucent tinsel of some kind?

Tail is orange antron (I think!)

Any help to identify the fly or the materials would be much appreciated (As would the origins of the fly)

Regards

Mike

Looks like someone was doing a whisky fly variant with a tail and using marabou for a wing.

Thanks gents.

The photo is misleading, there is no wire rib.

I would have said Orange Cormorant, but they,re not usually tied with tails.

Hook :kamasan b175
Thread :utc fl orange
Body : mirage tinsel over orange thread
Wing :Orange marabou
cheeks :Fl yellow goose biots

Tail and rib optional, fine silver wire rib for durability and add a tail of marabou or glo- brite floss to match your sample, you could even varnish or bug bond the body for effect .

job done
