Can somebody shed some light on this for me please as I done a google and there are lots of patterns that claim to be a G K shrimp
Colour, size, materials etc.
Funny it seems there are times you should stick to the propper name of a fly.
Thanks
Mike

Don't think yours is even close MM. Sorry.

From the: 'Killer shrimp Total Flyfisher' thread of about an year ago. Steve Cullen's version looks deadly.

No worries there, scan away, this was Harley's shrimp simple and bloody effective is too, as for the shrimps, they were spewed up from a trout.

Had a good look at these beasts this december down towards the dam ,seems to me a light grey would come closest ,intend mixing some natural rabbit with some of white seal ,dont think the floaty head is needed at this time of year ,even when turning over stones in up too my knees water they would swim not much more than 18" above the lake bed ,guess mine would be dressed on a standard shank 12 or 14 .possibly a little copper wire for ballast.

I'm pretty sure there was a C.J's Killer Shrimp pattern in one of last year's FF&FT editions. I'll see if I can look it out for you.

I think the gist of fishing Harley's suspender shrimp was to cast into clouds of shrimp disturbed by wading etc.

Steve Cullen's Total Trout Fishing covered it well and there were some scans of the article deeper into the linked 'quote' thread if you don't have that issue.

P.S. Dikerogammarus grow to 30mm. I think I'd use stout fluorocarbon to, at least, size 10 hooks.

November edition '11. Page 26. I have to admit that the pattern leaves me slightly confused. It looks like a buzzer and even has breathers
