Zephyr

Just back from a harrowing day in a force 93 zephyr. Only got back to fishing this year after about a 20 year absence and the casting technique I may or may not once have had has gone AWOL.
Any advice for casting in a howling gale or is it just God's way of telling you to get back home and pour yourself a family size whisky?
