Default hen pheasant wings

hi guys, got hold of a pair of wings recently as I'm starting to get into winged wets etc. what I was wondering, is there any uses for other than the prmary and secondary feathers in tying, I ask as I noticed the small feathers around the shoulder (that look like little sheilds) look nice, any help appreciated

They can be used for spiders or other wet flies.

That is the only way I have seen them used. Go ahead and give it a try, you might like the results.

The quills are often used instead of tail feather sections for flies like the Invicta series, they are easier to tie & split less.

Use them like Davie Mcphail does on his Tan Caddis, you can get some cracking results from bug bonding soft hackles from woodcock, grouse etc
