Sorry Bill, I just feel that the simple, rather splendid spider/buzzer pattern that you have tied there is ruined by the addition of the biots.

I fear that you are right, although I'd like to see what, if anything, happens in a fast flowing river.
It might well be best tied wingless, as a cruncher with a shorter hackle - perhaps with jc eyes or biots for cheeks as you suggest.
Fun while it lasted, though.
