Default a few cormorants

i have noticed a couple of threads on cormorants lately and realised that its yet another style of fly that i havent tied before so i decided to give them a go...

Nice and slim looking, I've also been tying them for the first time recently (to be used as 'mini lures') and these are the ones I was shown as a model to follow

Cheers g1zmo. i like the look of those, especially the way the marabou has been mixed. ill give that a shot tomorrow.

No worries, danielp also gave out the excellent tip of stripping the marabou to make the head section neater. I hold it in a 'pinched' bunch and strip the part you're going to tie in between finger and thumb.

not bad mate i like to use marabou tips for the wing.
it's probably not as mobile but gives the fly a better look and i still catch plenty of fish on them.

fortbhoy, what do you mean by marabou tips?

and

clydestyle, could you tell me what strung bloods are?

sorry if these are stupid questions i have just never heard of these before.

marabou tips are the tips of a marabou feather. if you stroke the two side together at the tip of a marabou to form the wing. it's not easy to explain without being able to show you. i will tie you a cormorant tomorrow with the tip of the feather and you will see the difference.
