Starter Equipment Advice Please

Hi all,

I want to start tying and because I have no experience of it am not sure what tools I may need or how much I'd need to spend. I don't want to buy complete rubbish but am definitely on a tight budget, like most at the moment.

So, I guess my questions are:

what are the bare essentials?
what would you recommend as best bang for the buck?
I've seen a few 'starter kits' at cheap prices - is it a good idea to get one of these or just buy a few pieces seperately?
any other information that a complete newb might need regarding equipment you'd like to pass on.

And I guess I might as well ask if anyone has any gear that they might be selling off. I am keeping my eye open in the wanted sections too ofc, but always worth asking
