I've bought a selection of most of them and they are very good, I especially like the 644 for small shrimp type patterns or other small weighted flies for this time of year.

I have been stocking the entrire range of Dohiku hooks for 2 years now -

Flytying Boutique - for unusual and interesting materials

Sold literally 1,000s - great reports from customers as to the strength and hook hold from these excellent barbless hooks!

Kind regards

The Dohiku Barbless hooks are excellent. I have used them for over a year now. I normally get them from the Fly Tying Boutique.

Thanks, I've been using a very similar pattern by Grip, which have also been very good, but I'll bear these in mind as well.

Looks really nice and I'm sure they're great, price is more than reasonable, but do they go smaller than 18 for dry flies? I've been using Tiemco 100BL for flies in the #20s, wouldn't mind trying out these Dohiku ones...

Thanks,
Kenneth

Kenneth,

The smallest Dohiku dry hook (301) is a size 18. If you require a smaller hook, then the Grip 11911 BL is excellent - and available down to a size 24.

Flytying Boutique - for unusual and interesting materials

Jeffr,

The Dohiku hooks are slightly heavier than the Grip range - and slightly stronger.

Kind regards

I agree-the way I look at it is if I can,t see to tie it or tie it on then I can,t be bothered even if the damned fish Can see down to size 32!

Phil,

Thanks for the heads-up. I still have a healthy supply of 100BLs in sizes 20-24, but from all accounts these Grip hooks seem to be every bit as good!

Horses50 and Flytier07, there was a time when tying flies down to 28 was something I used to do just for fun, but when I hit 43 and my eyesight just suddenly decided to take a holiday, I now limit myself to tying #20 flies, very occasionally going to 22 or 24 when the fish get finicky on a particular chalkstream that I fish very often. I have to say that with 17/0 or 20 dernier thread and high quality hackle from Whiting, a size 20 is actually quite doable!

Regards,
Kenneth
