Default Some buzzers...

Their not as good as last night, the varnish just didn't work tonight for some reason, only thing I did different last night was I shook the bottle as I had added some acetone to the bottle?

Hi rollcast, you seem to be having a problem with the varnish covering the hook eye, if you are using the brush that comes with the varnish try cutting it to about an 8th of its thickness.

ps this isnt meant as a critisism, just trying to be helpful

No. 3 for me, a small red holo cheek and yer in

BTW an old tip, when you've varnished the buzzer you can strip a few fibers off a feather exposing half inch or so stalk, pass the stalk through the hook eye and pull the remainder of feather through - i'll clear the excess varnish mate.

if your varnish is thick before you brush it on a tip i use is to stick it in a bowl of hot water for 20 seconds and it thins it out unscrew and varnish quickly

i think your trying to put to much varnish on in the one go.
try a thin layer then let it dry then apply another. do this up to 4,5 or even 6 coats if it needs be

I've added thinner to the varnish until its now at a thickness just slightly thicker than water.

It seems much better now, it actually flows off the needle now

Looks to me like your varnish has bit the dust.
Get yourself some new Stuff and do thin fast coats
Three coats of Sally's and I get this.(keep at it mate you will get there)it's a real shame as it's not doing your tying justice.

Adding acetone to the varnish can make it go cloudy. If it's getting too thick, get some new. Small price when you consider the fortunes we spend on our fishing!
