Default Egg flies

Going to try and get out grayling fishing at some point if the weather permits in the next few weeks. I've been tying up a few bugs but have heard the egg fly get mentioned a couple of times for them. My questions are what size? weighted or not? what colours? and how do you fish them? Thanks for any help

These are size 8, i thought the hooks were 10, i think i'm actually going to tie them in future on size 12 hooks.
You can use either antron or Senyo's lazer dub, which is what i used.
The original recipe called for antron.
is a short video describing how to tie them. I believe in the video they are on size 14 hooks, but i was tying them for steelhead, so made them bigger (to big!)

Aye, but you've weighted them with beads, which gives you an anchor pattern...so say a hot orange Tungsten bead with, more workable, Enrico Puglisi silky fibre as a wrap and wow! I like the way your'e thinking! Perhaps you could also lose the tye off point with some flat silver mylar. It's a winner

Be quicker and easier just forming a circle on a ball on a bare hook with power bait.

they're not weighted. The internal contrast color is from dubbing as well, same as the 'shell'

Some of these grayling bugs are bright pink though GFL, same kinda thing...I like the idea, something different. My theory has always been, give em what they want..to a limit of course!
