Default Floating Bloodworm Pattern

Hi Folks,

New to fly tying but currently I'm looking for a floating bloodworm pattern that would be fished with a sinking line near the lake bed,

or when the magazines mention a floating bloodworm are they talking about a Red Bloodworm Booby Nymph, like this?

Any thoughts?

Hi Robbie, I think what your looking for is a suspender buzzer tied to imitate a bloodworm. Will tie a couple tomorrow and post a couple of pics. Will even tie you a couple if you like. In the mean time have a look on Google images for suspender buzzer and it will give you the idea.
Mick.

Hi Mick,

I thought as much it might be something like a suspender buzzer, but when I read the article it mentioned floating bloodworm and I took it literally as that and thought it was a specific pattern or maybe a booby bloodworm..

I've been over to Pete a few times for a few tips, just sticking to simple patterns for the mo', and have had some catch success already..

Fished hard on the bottom with a short leader or as droppers with a gold head on the point, again slow on the bottom.
Hope this gives you some ideas.

Hi Mick, well done... will save the pics to the PC.

Here's my effort at a Suspender Buzzer... remember I'm only tying a wet week

Could try one with a little marabou tail!!

Not bad at all Robbie, try them in different colours like black ,olive and red. Keep at it and you'll get there.
