Default Substitute for tippets?

Hi Folks is there a more durable substitute for golden pheasant tippets as a tailing material, you can lose all your tailing material when you catch one fish......

I suppose you could use something like orange bucktail and use a black permanent marker on the tips to give the same effect as tippet.

Personally I wouldn't bother if a fly has caught a fish it's done it's job, I would just swap the fly and keep the old hook for retying in future if still in good condition. But then again I'm a tight old g?t

Never really had a problem with them.
You could use floss, marabou, cock fibres or numerous other things but have never come across an actual substitute.

Try using nylon strands of a duster one of those multi coloured ones
They work great nice and stiff and the fish can't bite through them .
