Default Varnish - coating bodies

I have been using Some cheap stuff from lureflash to finish the heads on my flies.

I tried to use some to coat the bodies of quill crunchers and buzzers but having real problems. The stuff take hours to dry (im not exaggerating!) i put small coats on and it stays tacky. I even tried leaving it overnight. But when i test it it is still very soft.

I thought it would have turned rock hard ?

What is the best thing to use for coating bodies and finishing heads ?

PS. I looked at bug bond, but the price is just way to high. I cant pay £60 just to coat flies

Try Hard As Nails or search for UV cure resin. Cheaper than bug bond.
You could also nip to the car accessory shop (Halfords) and get some cellulite varnish. Also acrylic varnish or yacht varnish.

If you are thinking of going the Bug Bond route have a gander at Fritznflies web site , they do the full monty for a very reasonable price.
Sally Hanson "hard as nails" or Rimmel are two good varnish's for coating fly's as long as you coat them sparingly.

I had a look at the website, but they are out of stock. Fantastic price though
