hi guys which whip finish tool do i buy or are they all the same

Go for the Materelli rotating type Terry. They can be used left, or right
handed & are a doddle to use mate.

Thanks Jim, I use a mattarelli and always end up hand whipping - However that video has just showed me the very specific error of my ways

I bought a cheap matarelli copy off ebay for £3 a year ago and has served me well, a bit finnicy to start with but watch that clip above and copy exactly what he does and you'll soon get the hang of it. Big hook in the vice and practice whipping it for hours on end and you'll eventually get it, the secrets in how you angle the thread if its angled at the wrong angle then it'll keep slipping off the shank and the tool and don't position the WFT too far from the hook as you'll get less control of the thread.
