Dunkeld Crippler

[Scratch]

Another 'Crippler' based on a classic wet - this time the Dunkeld. As yet untried, but hoping this one will do a job up the leader, on the middle or top droppers, probably getting a swim in bright conditions. I never usually put JC on the Cripplers, but being a Dunkeld variant, I just had to furnish it! Even tied a couple with full nails to keep Mr Pengs quiet

Dunkeld Crippler

Hook: Kamasan B175 or 170, size 8, 10 or 12
Butt: Flat gold
Rib: Oval gold
Body: 50/50 orange seals fur and gold ice dub
Body Hackle: Grizzle hen dyed orange
Shoulder Hackle 1: Speckled hen (light brown/beige)
Shoulder Hackle 2: GP body feather dyed orange
Shoulder Hackle 3: Bronze Mallard
Cheeks: JC splits
Thread: UTC70 Den, black

Cracker Rob , Why is it called a crippler ?, and also what type of tinsel do you use for the rib as i always struggle with it as it seems to come apart

It looks good and a bit different from the dunkelds that I tie which really just vary in the hackle colouring but by far my most productive is an unpalmered one with orkney peach and I have no idea why that is.
