Great looking fly Edd, your'e tying has really come on alot. The pic is not bad, what I'd recommend you do is get yaself some fly-clips off Scratch and try some grey card behind set up against something and the fly about 12 inches in front of the card on a book or something, set your camera to macro on say a 3 second timer and position it on another book or something that gets the fly at the right place in your viewfinder a few inches in front of the camera and angle your light-source at different angles and take a pic each time with the light-source at a different angle and with the light at various distances away from the fly. By doing this you will find which angles and distances are more effective. You want to get a fairly accurate account of the colours that the materials are composed of and in fairly good focus, try and focus so you are focusing on the eye of the hook and the camera is parallel to the fly, but I'd use the automatic mode to start with then experiment with the manual settings. Taking picture outdoors will give you better light but I find I can never get them looking how I'd like so I shoot indoors mainly.
