Default Opinions Please

Hey folks,

Now this thread isn't actually for showing you my flies (but please judge and comment)

It's more to show you my new macro lens, what I'm looking for is an honest opinion on the quality of these photo's. No real effort went into taking them, it was just a quick snap to test it out.

Looks like it will do the job just fine when you play around with the settings a bit

They look a bit blurred so more tuning needed,
I'm no photo taker but I have been to lazy to learn to take a decent picture by reading up on it.
You should go to the effort of learning the basics unlike me because you have now spent out good money on the proper lens and if you don't it was money wasted.
I do admire the better photo takers on here, brings the flies to life.
Good luck with it.
Mike

Try a smaller (around f20) aperture to get more in focus, you'll need more light/ slower shutter or higher ISO though.

I'm about to drop a bomb shell I think, lol. Don't know if this will change your opinion on the photo's or not. But these were taken on my iPhone.

See if there is a manual setting and mess around a bit, not bad for a phone all the same!

Just downloaded a couple of bits and bobs, for changing my shutter speed, and amending my aperture. Will have a play about!

I agree with Gary, a smaller aperture is going to give you a bit more depth of field. I personally wouldn't go down to f20 though as diffraction will start to loose image sharpness.

*edit*

Just realised you've taken them with your phone, they're good....for a phone.
