Default BUG BOND not impressed

Finally bought B Bond...Pro torch, pro tips and a bottle of lite-bond. Tried a sample when I recieved it and it set pretty hard, no tack. Since then it's been like a badly mixed two-part epoxy requiring the varnish to stop the tacky consistency. I reckon it's because the torch is eating the battery. Im aware of the other alternatives available and heard of the deer creek diamond bond a few hours after ordering B-Bond.

Now UV cured resin is nothing new....25yrs old and counting, used for fixing veneers to teeth and at least another 3 applications in the dental industry.

Used in the Nail Manicuring industry and also in windscreen repair.

I can't speak for nail and windscreen industries, but within the dental industry I have a good contact...now the interesting thing is...the lamps that cure the resin cost £1.5 K and are powerful. I'm using a silly wee torch (overpriced) to cure my resin that frankly doesn't produce the results.

I'd like to hear other voices on this so called new poduct regarding torches and the various resins....Diamond Bond, Lightening Bond, Mr Bond.

Gentleman....?

and ladies...?

You are right it is rubbish.don't see the point in using it when you will end up coating it with varnish.yet another product designed to lure in the gullible fly tyers.tin hat at the ready.

I'm interested as well.

Haven't invested in any yet, but have a stack of buzzers to tie for next season and might just stick with the Sally Hansen.

Never had a problem with it. I've had my torch for about 9 months (not the pro torch) and I've just had to change the batteries now.

I usually hold the torch on one bit for 20 - 30 seconds, turn the fly a quarter turn, hold the torch for about 20 - 30 seconds and keep repeating until the whole fly is done.

can't see the point of the expense of the bug bond when you have to finish it off with sally h .not exactly the way bug bond was designed to be used.
