Default upwing dry

First attempt at upwing drys, got the feel for the wings and I think I will be tying a lot more of this style for top of the water for next year.

next head on

slight angle to let you see the wings

Also after seeing the link earlier about light boxes, I got some things that were lying about and came up with this. The lights are just temp as they will be replaced by stronger and brighter one's.

Please be kind

Nice fly and good winging. Good idea on the light box, though I bet it weighs a bit! Looks like metal with foil stuck on.

The fly is neat young Ed. I'm more fascinated by the box. It's kinda groovy man. Mmm I want one . Is that foil inside? And is the back panel green foil? I've got one of those lights.

Right that's me for the weekend-off to the shed, do not disturb sign on the door .

Chris.

Give the box a couple of ears and it'll look like a cross-eyed Oger. Shrek's uglier brother.

I do like it though. A nice fly too.

Thanks guys, little fiddly to get the wings right, if I remember I think that is the 4th set of wings I used before I got them to sit right.

The light box is easy, sheet of hard board, glue stick and some tinfoil, sheet of green card for the back and two battery operated led lights, ohh and a hot glue gun. Took me about 20 mins to make.

I will be modifying it slightly, needs stronger brighter lights, so off to B n Q today to see what I can get.

Thanks for all your comments,
Ed
