Can anyone point me in the direction of red peacock herl as used in this fly.

Like the look of it but cant find the herl required

I may be wrong here and I would appreciate being corrected...I would think that bleached and dyed peacock herl would have lost its irredescence and therefore blood red marabou fibres would be as good an alternative to save you the trouble.

Totally agree with you about the bleaching etc. but if you can get really good red dye, the Peacock fibres still retain their original qualities and you might be able to get away without the need to bleach.

Fords Fly Tying here on the forum are doing a special on dyed peacock eyes just now which seems rather reasonable and Ed and Fiona are great people to deal with.
